Why most AI forgets you

Most chatbots are stateless. Each conversation starts from nothing, so you re-explain who your sister is, what your job is and what happened last week, every time. Some assistants have added a memory feature, but it is usually a short list of saved notes or a search over old chats, built for tasks rather than for a life.

Remembering everything word for word is not the answer either. A transcript is noisy, and pasting all of it back into every reply makes an AI slow, expensive and strangely over-familiar. What a good memory needs is structure: knowing who is who, what changed and when.

How superemotion remembers

You mention something in passing — "my sister is moving from Munich to Berlin at the end of August". After the reply is sent, superemotion reads the conversation back and records what it found as facts in a graph: a person (your sister), two places (Munich and Berlin), the connection between them (lives at), and the date each one was true.

A new fact does not overwrite the old one. It closes it. Your sister lived in Munich until August and lives in Berlin from the end of August, and both are kept with their dates. So in October, when you say you are thinking of going to Berlin, superemotion can point out that your sister will have been there over a month by then.

This is what we mean by an AI that remembers everything that matters. It remembers the structure of your life — the people, the places, the events, the plans and the things you care about — not every sentence you typed.

What it remembers, in numbers

A free account holds up to 60 people, places, events, commitments and things, up to 200 relationships between them, and up to 400 facts about them. Each reply brings in at most three remembered facts, chosen by following the links from whoever or whatever you are talking about.

That limit is deliberate. An AI that brings back everything it knows at once feels less like a friend who remembers and more like a file being read aloud. Three well-chosen facts is enough to ask the right question.

A memory that is private

Every message, every conversation title, and every name, detail and fact superemotion remembers is encrypted with AES-256 before it reaches the database, under a key derived for your account alone. The database itself refuses to return any row that is not yours.

Replies are written on AWS Bedrock, which does not train models on your conversations, and superemotion's own logs record timing and cost, never what you said. You can see the shape of your memory graph inside the app.
