Emotional AI that understands your people.
superemotion is an emotional AI — an emotionally intelligent AI you talk to in a browser. Before it replies, it reads how much weight a message is carrying, which way things are moving and what you actually want back. It also remembers the people, places and moments in your life, so its understanding of what you are going through builds from one conversation to the next instead of resetting every time.
What makes an AI emotionally intelligent
Most chatbots are emotionally fluent rather than emotionally intelligent. They have learned the vocabulary of sympathy — "that sounds really hard", "your feelings are valid" — and they apply it to anything that looks sad. That is tone, not understanding.
Emotional intelligence needs two things a general-purpose chatbot does not have. The first is a read of the moment: how heavy this message is, whether things are getting worse or settling, and whether you want advice, company, space or nothing at all. The second is context: who the people you mention are, what happened with them last time, and whether this is the first time or the third.
superemotion is built around both. That is the whole difference between an emotional AI and a chatbot with a warm voice.
How superemotion reads a message
Every turn starts with a safety gate. If it clears, a small model reads the message and produces four things: intensity (how much weight it is carrying, from 0 to 1), trajectory (rising, flat or settling since the last turn), wants (space, company, advice or nothing) and mode (whether the reply should sit with you, reflect, ask a question or suggest something).
At the same time, superemotion looks up what it already knows about the people and places in the message, and brings in at most three facts. Then exactly one generation call writes the reply, shaped by that read and those facts. There is no planner and no second rewrite pass, so the first reply is the reply.
The effect is that a message like "my sister cancelled on me again" gets a different answer from superemotion than from a generic chatbot. It knows it is the third time this month, so it can say that this is a pattern rather than bad luck, and ask one real question about it.
Emotional AI without the therapy-speak
A lot of emotional AI products sound the same: sympathy on schedule, naming your feelings for you, validating by reflex, and handing the question back with "how did that make you feel?". superemotion is deliberately built not to do this.
It responds to what you actually said. When there is a pattern, it says so. When you want advice, it gives some. When you want to vent, it keeps the reply short and stays out of the way. Understanding shows in what an answer notices, not in how many comforting phrases it contains.
Why memory is part of emotional intelligence
A friend who is good with feelings is good partly because they remember. They know your mum's surgery is on Thursday, so on Friday they ask how it went. An AI that forgets everything between conversations can only ever be kind in general.
superemotion keeps a private graph of the people, places, events and commitments you mention — not a transcript — and carries it from one conversation to the next. That is what lets its emotional read be about your life rather than about the words in one message.
Questions
- What is emotional AI?
- Emotional AI is AI that recognises and responds to human emotion. In a conversational product, that means reading how a message feels and what the person wants, not just what it literally says. superemotion is an emotional AI you talk to: it reads each message for intensity, direction and what you want back, and it remembers the people in your life so it understands context.
- Is superemotion an emotionally intelligent AI?
- Yes. superemotion is built specifically to be an emotionally intelligent AI. It reads every message for how much weight it carries and what kind of response you want, remembers the people and events you mention across conversations, and replies without reflexive validation or therapy-speak.
- Can AI really understand emotions?
- An AI does not feel emotions, and superemotion does not pretend to. What it can do is read emotional signals in what you write, keep track of what has happened in your life, and answer in a way that fits. That is a narrower claim than "understanding" in the human sense, and a more useful one.
- Is emotional AI safe to talk to?
- superemotion runs a safety gate on every message before any model sees it, and that gate can answer with a fixed, human-written reply. It is not a crisis service and not a substitute for care from a person. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number.
In short
superemotion (also written SuperEmotion) is an emotional AI you talk to in your web browser: an emotionally intelligent AI that remembers the people, places and moments in your life across every conversation. It keeps a private, encrypted memory graph instead of a transcript, reads how each message feels before it answers, and replies directly, without therapy-speak or reflexive validation. It is free during early access.
