What it keeps, and why.
The plain version of what superemotion collects, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do with it. Nothing here is more generous than the code.

Who we are
superemotion is an AI you talk to that remembers the people and things in your life, at superemotion.app. In this policy, “we” and “us” means superemotion, and “you” means anyone who visits the site or has an account.
Questions about this policy, or requests about your data, go to hello@superemotion.app.

What we collect
Only what the product needs to work, and what you choose to give it.
- Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, the name, email and profile picture Google shares with us. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and never stored in readable form.
- Your conversations. The messages you send, the replies, and each conversation's title.
- What it remembers. The people, places, events and facts it picks up from your conversations, and how they connect to you. You can see all of it on the Ontology page.
- Dictation. When you speak instead of type, the recording is sent to be turned into text. We keep the text, not the recording.
- Images. Photos and screenshots you add to a message. They are made smaller and stripped of location and camera details in your browser before they are sent, and kept with the conversation so you can see them later. A short description of what each one shows is kept too, so it can recall them later in the conversation.
- Usage. How many credits, seconds of dictation and image uploads you have used, and, for each reply, how long it took and what it cost. These records never contain what you said.
- Forms. What you type into the request-access and feedback forms, including a friend's name or email if you choose to give one.
- Site analytics. Which pages are visited, from what kind of device and roughly where, collected by Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics.

How we use it
To run superemotion: to reply to you, to remember what matters from one conversation to the next, to keep your account signed in, to count your credits, and to send the emails an account needs, such as a welcome or an invitation.
To keep it safe: every message passes a safety check before a reply is written, and there is no setting that turns it off.
To make it better: we look at usage in aggregate, such as how often replies fail or how long they take. We do not sell your data, we do not show you ads, and nothing you say is used to train an AI model.
04
Encryption, and who can read it
Your messages, conversation titles, images, and the names, details and facts it remembers are encrypted before they are stored, each account under its own key. A stolen copy of the database or a backup shows scrambled text, not your words. The database also refuses any request for a row that is not yours.
We would rather be exact than reassuring: the keys are derived from a secret superemotion holds, because an AI that answers you has to be able to read what you said. Encryption here protects your words from a stolen database, not from us. We do not read your conversations. That is a commitment we are making, not a technical limit.
07
Keeping it, and your choices
We keep your data while your account is open, because remembering is what the product does. You can change your name in Settings and see everything it remembers on the Ontology page. Deleting a conversation deletes its images. An image you add but never send is deleted after a day.
You can write to hello@superemotion.app to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to close your account. We will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
08
Age
superemotion is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will close it.
09
Not a crisis service
superemotion is not therapy, not a crisis service, and not a substitute for care from a person. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number.
10
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its date. If a change affects how your data is used, we will email you before it takes effect. The Terms of Service cover the rest of how the service works.
